Essential invoice checklist
- Header: The word "Invoice" and your business logo
- Invoice number: Unique and sequential
- Dates: Invoice date and due date
- Business details: Name, address, contact info, GSTIN if registered
- Customer details: Name, company, address, GSTIN if applicable
- Itemised charges: Description, quantity, rate, and amount for each item
- Taxes: GST rate and amount, split as CGST/SGST or IGST where relevant
- Discounts: If any, clearly shown per item or as a total
- Grand total: The final amount payable
- Payment terms and information: Due date, accepted payment methods, bank or UPI details
- Notes/Terms: Any additional terms, late fees, or thank-you note
